Entire Queensland town still on market for $750k

first_imgThe Queensland town for sale for less than the price of the average home in Sydney remains on the market for offers over $750,000.Reports over the weekend suggested the town was under contract, but Julie Sutton, Principal with Sutton Nationwide Realty Gin Gin, tells realestate.com.au that the contract did not go ahead and the property is now back on the market.The tiny town of Allies Creek in Monogorilby, located over 200km north-west of Brisbane includes 16 homes, a water treatment plant, a mill and a dam with a pontoon and it is still for sale.“It’s such a bargain, that’s the thing,” Sutton says.The current owner had reduced the price to $750,000 — some $30,000 less than you would pay for a house in Sydney – but Sutton insists offers now need to be above that price.According to CoreLogic RP Data, the median sale price for a home in Sydney in April was $780,000.This is one of 16 houses included in the sale of the town.Allies Creek in Monogorilby has been owned and operated for years by an unnamed married couple, with the passing of one partner resulting in the other looking to move on.The remaining owner is “a bit overwhelmed” at all the media attention the town has generated in the past week, Sutton says.But Allies Creek is an “extremely profitable” business.“It has commercial rent as well we residential…the possibilities are endless.  It could hold fantastic music festivals, it could be for groups that have large camp outs, it could be for a Scout club or group to own, it could possibly be set up as a caravan site.  It’s just endless what you could do with this place,” she says.Italian dream: A look at the Tuscan village for sale for €40mA look at some of the machinery included in the sale.Some of the town’s 16 houses – made up of two, three and four bedroom properties – are currently tenanted.That small population is likely to soon grow.“There would be a minimum of six, seven houses rented out at this stage. Frye: Governor’s infrastructure plan provides critical funding for fourth port

first_imgIndianapolis, In. — Southeast Indiana has significant economic potential. With our proximity to the Ohio River, many interstates and major cities, our community is able to quickly connect to all of Indiana, neighboring states and the country. To capitalize on our location, I worked with other state and local leaders to develop a plan to locate a fourth port in our part of the state. Recently, Gov. Eric Holcomb announced a new program that will invest $1 billion in Indiana’s infrastructure, including a fourth port in Southeast Indiana. The governor’s Next Level Connections program wisely highlights the need for Indiana to complete the evaluation of developing a fourth port in Lawrenceburg.Currently, Port of Indiana operates three river ports, including one on Lake Michigan in Burns Harbor, and two on the Ohio River in Jeffersonville and Mount Vernon. The Ohio River ports generate $2 billion in revenue annually and support 15,000 jobs. Adding a fourth port would be a boon for both our local and state economies.Not only would a fourth port be a place where barges come to load and unload cargo, but it would also be an industrial complex attracting additional businesses, commerce and industry to our area. Typically, steel mills, ethanol plants, grain shipping, automotive plants and other industrial businesses locate near ports, bringing high-paying jobs with them. In addition, port development also has the potential to drive infrastructure improvements. With access to railways and Interstate 275 along with a location close to the Great Cincinnati metropolitan area, a fourth port would be a transportation hub for the tri-state area.Along with providing vital funding to move the fourth port project forward, the governor’s Next Level Connections program also outlines plans to invest in several other aspects of Indiana’s infrastructure, including roads and bridges. As the Crossroads of America, Indiana’s roadways are the lifeblood of our economy. Through these investments, the plan will fast track several major road projects to help motorists arrive faster and safely to their destinations.Developing and building the fourth port of Indiana will not be an overnight project. These projects require years of careful planning, investment and construction. I appreciate the governor’s continued leadership and support on this crucial project.
