Cops Probe 3 Suffolk Armed Home Invasions in 3 Days

first_imgSign up for our COVID-19 newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest coronavirus news throughout New York Suffolk County police are investigating three armed home invasions in as many days, including two cases in which three suspects have been arrested, authorities said.In the first case, two men were charged with breaking into a Chestnut Avenue home in Farmingville and stealing jewelry, a cell phone and a computer at 2:40 a.m. on Aug. 4, police said.Two suspects, 24-year-old Ray Pena of Port Jefferson Station and Luis Garcia, 34, of Commack, were arrested and charged with burglary with a deadly weapon and other charges.In the second case, 62-year-old Larry John of Bay Shore entered the rear door of a Copiague home on Waldo Street, flashed a shotgun, announced a robbery and stole cash at 3:30 a.m. Aug. 5, police said. One of the victims was treated for non-life threatening injuries. John was charged with burglary and criminal use of a firearm.In the third case, two men armed with a handgun entered a Mooring Drive home in Brookhaven and stole two cell phones at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 6. There were no arrests or descriptions of the suspects in that case.Detectives are continuing the investigations.last_img
